Beach Reads
Want to take a book to the beach and not worry about it getting wet or sandy? Buy a book from the Friends on-going used book kiosk at the front of the library. There is a great selection of gently used hardcovers and paperbacks. Hardcovers are $1 and paperbacks are $.50. For those prices, you can buy as many as you want! Then pass them along to a friend. A great way to recycle. If you have books in your home that you think others might enjoy, consider donating them to the book sale. You can drop them off anytime. We just ask that they be in good condition, and no textbooks or magazines please. Enjoy the summer! Enjoy the beach! Enjoy a great read!

July 8th Book Group Meeting
The book choice for the July book group is discussion is Sue Miller's The Senator's Wife. ( We seem to be on a roll with book titles that end in Wife!) The author of the iconic The Good Mother and the best-selling While I Was Gone brings her marvelous gifts to a powerful story of two unconventional women who unexpectedly change each other's lives.
Please note the meeting is July 8th at 7 PM at the library. Not July 1st, as previously published. You don't need to be a member or a Pembroke resident to join our discussions. Just come and participate. Book group discussion attendees need to acquire their own copies of July selection.
Do you have any ideas for the September and November book group choices? On suggestion is that we choose a book that has been made into a movie. At our usual meeting we would discuss the book and then hold a "movie night" to view the film. You could come to both meetings or just come see the movie! What do you think? Any other ideas for book choices? Themes? Let us know.
